Reply:Beatrice is a beautiful name in my opinion. It sounds nice and I love the meanings associated with it like "blessed woman" and "bringer of joy".

I suppose it originates from Date's Divine Comedy and the authors life personaly, where Beatrice was basicaly everything that was good in the world in the eyes of Dante. It was actually spelled as Beatrix, but the pronunciation is the same.
Reply:I would say choose a traditional or family name or name your child after a relative. My rational is this: your child with have to live with this name and it shouldn't be some "fad" or crazy name. Traditional names never go out of style. Giving a family name or naming your child after someone gives the name true meaning and attachment.

What you all think about baby boy name 'Anirvin'? Is it easy to pronounce? ?

Please let me know the positives and negatives.

What you all think about baby boy name 'Anirvin'? Is it easy to pronounce? ?
Don't like it, it looks like an anagram of Nirvana. Almost.

Reply:Dont do that to your kid. I can tell you from experience that having a unique name is not fun. Its not that it doesn't sound good, its that you always have to spell it for people, no one ever remembers it, and most people will either say it or spell it wrong. Give him something nice but normal.
Reply:Goodness no. My eyes crossed when I first saw it.

Sorry. Won't even try to pronounce it.
Reply:Easy to pronounce or not...it is not a pleasant sounding name. Sounds too odd to me!

Help me with baby boy names?

The ones I've came up with so far are:

Abraham

Naruto

Ichigo

Gonzo

Help me with baby boy names?
I like Abraham.
Reply:Gonzo? Really? That is a name that he will change as soon as he hits school. Out that list Abraham and Naruto are okay. What are the characteristics you want your son to be known for? A name is something that will define your child's view of himself and how others view him. There are strong names such as David, Liam, William, Richard. Or sensitive names like Zachary, Geoffrey or any name that ends in "er" like Tucker. It really depends on how you want your son to be viewed.
Reply:I love Abraham. I also like Isaac, Isaiah, Noah, and Elijah.

Reply:please don't name him any of those!!! he'll be made fun of forever. go with something original, but normal... like keith
Reply:do not do that to your baby but if i had to pick Abraham.
Reply:yuck i agree with the others dont name him that!!!! will be teased forever!!! how about ryan? Alex? tait? cooper????

Reply:Please do your kids a favor(yourself too) and pick easy names to write and pronounce.

You will save your kids a lot of time getting their name corrected and easy to remember.

Also give them names they can relate to and that have a meaning.

In Africa, they say a child takes 7 traits from the person they are named after. The tradition is to give a good name to inspire them.

Andrew Wayne Sounds good.

Good luck

Have a 20 mo old baby boy name Samuel. We now have a new born baby girl. Is Samantha a good name for her?

I guess I'd like to know if that's okay to have a boy named Samuel and a girl named Samantha.

Have a 20 mo old baby boy name Samuel. We now have a new born baby girl. Is Samantha a good name for her?
Definitely not. Samuel and Samantha are equally wonderful names; both are very strong on their own. Together though, they'd sound terrible. You'd have a Sam and a Sam - how would you know who to call at any given time? My friend's cousins are named Christopher and Christina, and I think their parents are already regretting the decision lol.

Anyway, there are a billion other beautiful names out there for your newborn baby girl, so why not just choose one of them? Lily, Violet, Georgia, Penelope, Gwendolin, Julia, Chloe, Marina, Katherine, Eve, etc would be great names that go with Samuel. Because you seem to already like the name Samantha, Georgia seems to be a similar kind of thing - sort of a tomboyish, but still very pretty, name.

Good luck, and congrats!!
Reply:No. Give her her own name.

My friend Sandy's older brother is named Sanford... they both hate it... her brother changed his name to Andrea when he started taking the hormone pills.
Reply:I think that is a pretty cool idea. They are both totally classic names
Reply:I think it's cool but I bet you already call him Sam so maybe you can call her Samaara (Sa-maw-ruh) that way you can call her Maara and when you yell same they both won't come running.

Congratulations!
Reply:Really, no. They are both lovely names but they are just way too similar. Here are some reasons why it just wouldn't work.

1. Somewhere along the way they will both end up getting Sam (maybe not from you but others will do it) and that is just too weird.

2. Their mail, email and phonecalls will get confused (my husband and his siblings all have the same initials and this happens all the time.) Very frustrating.

3. It will limit their ability to feel like and grow as individuals.

4. What would you do if you ended up having another child? They would either feel terribly left out or it would become even more confusing.
Reply:ummm its a cute idea...but I wouldnt...lol it would get confusing because youd prob want to shorten both to sam...so then theyd get confused! lol

but its still a cute idea!

Congrats on the babies!
Reply:Yes it okay! They have both have beautiful names. If you were think about nicknames, You could call your son Sam and your daughters N.M. can be Sam-ee. Good luck, no matter what I love their name. Aloha
Reply:i wouldn't... maybe for a middle name... it's too similar and wouldn't it get confusing?? Let them be individuals... If it comes down to "sammy" vs. "sam" that'd be pretty ridiculous... unless you change it to Manny or something... it's all in how you want you and your family to be perceived
Reply:no. they're far too similar.
Reply:When I was in high school I knew a guy named Christopher Michael, and his sister's name was Christina Michelle. My first thought was, "wow. His parents have no creativity whatsoever."

I pretty much feel the same way about naming your kids Samuel and Samantha. With all due respect...
Reply:It might cause confusion... like if someone says- hey Sam!
Reply:i dont think so,personally. samuel and samantha sounds too....... fairy tale-ish i think that carmen is a beutiful name, and also allison. because you can make so many nicknames depending on the child's personality. i think that allison rose is a beautiful name. also allison joy, that one's a little more bubbly
Reply:Sorry, i wouldnt personally do that.

Both Sams...no way!
Reply:It's okay to name her that but you might get confused when they get older and your having to yell at them lol.
Reply:I like the name Samantha :)

Right now I have a girl due in May.

But if I had twins, their names would be Samuel and Scarlett.
Reply:Yea i actually really like that idea....
Reply:If you make a definite decision not to shorten their names, they will certainly get shortened when they go to school. I have a boy called Mitchell who we at home always call Mitchell but all his friends call him Mitch. It is inevitable - it will happen and you will then have two children named Sam.
Reply:Name your kids what you want! It might get confusing though if you decide to call them both "Sam".
Reply:I love both of the names!!
Reply:Samantha is a beautiful name.just don't nickname them both Sam.you should nickname the boy Sam %26amp; call Samantha by her middle name
Reply:I like both names, but I really think it's going to cause problems. I know that your son seems so much older than your daughter now, but this age gap closes in after a few years. My first 2 are around the same age difference...and as they got older they really struggled to find their own identity. My son ended up with my daughter's old teacher and felt like he was being compared to her. Our daughter is also a lot calmer and my son always felt like he was always getting punished for being different than her. I think the name thing would just add to this later on. If they weren't so close in age, I wouldn't think it was such a big deal. What if they both want to go by Sam?
Reply:i think not cuz the nick name sam will come alot so that will be kinda wird so i say no but cut and clasical

hurry find a name for the baby i went 5 days without a nmae haha ok good luck

Baby girl and baby boy names, can i get an opinion?

okay so i already figured out the babie names for my child,

babygirl name- Payton Laryane Cornelius

babyboy name- Aiyden Anthony Cornelius

the boys middle name is my fiances name, Anthony

for the babygirl should Larayne be the middle name, or should "Liana" which is my middle name, be her middle name?

helps me decide! =]

Baby girl and baby boy names, can i get an opinion?
I don't like the name Payton - it really is one of my least favourite names. It comes down to personal taste - I abhor unisex names. I personally think it sounds masculine and ugly. It's also really trendy - not terribly enduring or timeless. That being said obviously some people like it because there are loads of baby Paytons/Peytons. I just don't happen to be one of those people.

Aiyden is also really popular but I have a soft spot for the name. It was one of my favourites from the time I was in the 4th grade until it boomed into the number-1-boy-baby-name position this last year.

I think the idea of incorporating your names' into the baby's name. I do think Liana flows better as a middle name - it's a little softer.
Reply:I don't even understand how Laryane is supposed to be pronounced (Lorraine? If so that is how you should spell it) so I would go with Liana.

You didn't ask this but I think the traditional spelling of the name you have picked out for the boy (Aiden) is better. The y is extraneous and unnecessary.
Reply:The boy's name aiyden is really cute. But im not really liking the middle name for the girl. i like liana better than larayne
Reply:Not a fan of either the girl's or Boy's name.

Especially the unecessarily complicated spelling of Aiden.
Reply:I love the names Payton and Aiyden. I'm not trying to be rude or change your mind about anything but I like Aaden or Aiden better as the spelling. I like Laryane as the middle name.
Reply:Your middle name.

Laryane i dont like it cause it has 'larry' in it!
Reply:i think they both sound cute and as for the middle name liana sounds more girlie
Reply:i like liana, because I think it would be neat to give her your name.
Reply:i like liana, it's a lot easier to pronounce!!

Baby boy names, K in place of a C? Lucas/Lukas, Nicholas/Nikolas?

I think Lukas %26amp; Nikolas are cute, but my husband says NO. He thinks we should spell it "normal" so he wont get teased.

What do you think?

Lucas / Lukas

Nicholas / Nickolas / Nikolas

Baby boy names, K in place of a C? Lucas/Lukas, Nicholas/Nikolas?
I think Lukas is fine...but IDK about Nikolas/Nickolas
Reply:Most times when you see the K substituted for the C it is based on heritage. For instance, in the Slavic countries you will find Nikolas, Kristofer, etc. If you %26amp; your husband are not trying to represent your ancestry, then it would be solely preference.

Kids are teased for everything these days but it is VERY rare for a kid to tease another over the spelling of his/her name. Think about it, most of that little kid teasing goes on BEFORE these kids even know how to "correctly" spell eachother's names. They would be more likely to tease eachother based on WHAT the name is as opposed to how to spell it.

I think you'd be worse off with some kind of obscure or made- up name that kids have never heard or can't pronounce. If you're afraid of teasing by other kids, stay away from names that rhyme with "bad" or "potty" words (ex: Tucker, Lee, Stu, etc.). Also, watch out for acronyms that your chld's initials may spell (I have a female cousin whose initials are PMS).

Anyway, I think your biggest problem with a variant spelling would be that when people spell a name they tend to go with the "norm", so you would have to make sure it wouldn't bother you (or your child) that his name would consistently misspelled.

GOOD LUCK !!!

(Personally, I actually like Lukas but unless you're Russian I'm not so sure about Nikolas)
Reply:No matter what you name a kid, they will get teased. It might be about their name, or the way they look, or talk, or just because they dont run fast. Its what kids do. If you name him lukas, he will probably go by luke anyway. And if you call him nikolas he will probably go by Nick. So it really doesnt matter. The only thing is you will have a hard time finding personalized stuff. Like pencils, plates for bikes, anything like that. My son is AustYn, and i cant find anything like that for him. But he doesnt get teased for his name
Reply:Hubby is right dear.May be kids make fun of the correct spelling ,don't care about that but when there is a correct way to spell it and you know that correct spelling always use that correct spelling.Whats the message you want to send.to the kid -spell it how you like to spell it.To the world-I cant put my finger on it but something about that kid just isn't right.
Reply:For the love of god, spell it normally. Don't call into the trendy trap of spelling your kid's name with a K, like every other parent these days.

Nikolas is fine if you're european... that's how a lot of Slavic countries spell it, anyway.
Reply:I don't think he'd get teased, I just think people would spell it wrong his whole life. (The 'C' way instead of the 'K' way). I know from experience it can be quite annoying to always have to correct it. They're nice names though.
Reply:I like it the "Boy" way, Sorry I agree with him=(Its like my sons name is Christian, on his soccer team there was another Khristian but he was the Khristian with a "K" the kids NN him that=( I don't think you want that for YOUR boy?!!:{
Reply:I think it depends on each name. I like Lucas better %26amp; to me all 3 variations of Nicholas look fine %26amp; "normal".
Reply:I prefer the traditional spellings, Lucas and Nicholas.
Reply:I like the normal way of spelling it.

Baby boy names- which one do you like better?

Tannis

Dez

Aiden

Liam

Baby boy names- which one do you like better?
Jack because it is a good name. There's nothing dated about it, but it's been around for a long time. Your son will thank you for not naming him something that sounds like a detergent or an energy drink.
Reply:Aiden, Liam and Jack. Forget the rest. They are to strange and kids can be cruel when you get school aged. Remember your son has to live with this name for the rest of his life.
Reply:Jack, Aiden, and Liam are some of my all-time favorite boy names! Tannis reminds me of tennis and Dez reminds me of Desi Arnez.

Help with baby boy names, that arent to common...?
OLD ENGLISH NAMES

You know, we hear people from other lands with odd sounding names, and when one enquires as to their origin, we are often told that the name is an old family name, or a traditional name going back many centuries. But in England, what have we got? Bert, Betty, Tom, Harry, Dick, Heavenly-Harani-Tiger-Lilly, Angela, Peter, Paul, Mary, and John!

These are NOT real names now, are they?

But why should we not be like our continental cousins? We have lost the use of our traditional names of long ago. English names go way back to our distant past, and we are losing our identity to alien forms, and all our English names have been lost to the mists鈥?of time. Are you proud to be English? The French are proud to be French, and use traditional French names; indeed it was, not too long ago, that the naming of a French child was made compulsory, to be taken from an official list! OR ELSE! Oh Yes. So, I am submitting a list of Old English names; those that we should at least think about going back to, if for no other reason, that they will be known as ENGLISH NAMES, not the names of the old Britons, as only a few of these are known, and these were only those of few tribal chieftains, kings and queens, with the odd few others thrown in. The only name still in use in England is Cedric, and this is a royal name going way back to the really early days of the 6th and 7th centuries. To the right are names of those used by females, though this is not to say that the names on the left were not used by either gender, rather these names were recorded, and their used by that gender were known and recorded.

It can be uncommon, but just make sure it sounds like it looks. Nothing is more irritating than people who continually mispronounce your name.

Ooh...I like the above name...Trevan. How about Trevan Michael Thompson? I do like Jaxon too. Actually, I like all of the names. Maybe you could draw names from a hat!
Reply:Trevor Michael Thompson
Reply:Caden Michael

Allen Cooper

Caden Allen
Reply:jaxon, cooper, caden, trevor. How about Trevan?
Reply:Well, I don't really like any of them, but if I had to pick, it'd be

1) Caden Michael (just b/c i'm fond of the name Michael)

2) Trevor Allen (i knew this really annoying kid named Trevor)

3) Cooper Allen (i really don't like last names used as 1st names)

4) Jaxon Evan (i just really hate this name and especially the spelling of it)
Reply:Interesting initials... CMT, cat, tat, jet... yeah. Anyway:

1) Trevor Allen Thompson

2) Caden Michael Thompson

3) Cooper Allen Thompson

4) Jaxon Evan Thompson

2nd - Cooper Allen

3rd- Trevor Allen

4th- Jaxon Evan

I like Evan Michael too - I think that would be my number one.
Reply:jaxon-favorite
Reply:caden michael

jaxon evan
Reply:if I had to put in order it would be

1. Trevor Allen

2.Cooper Allen

3. Jaxon Allen

but I really like Evan Michael, Treven Michael, Allen Michael,Cooper Michael...those are just some I like...congrats and good luck
Reply:Trevor Allen (could be Trey or Ty for short, cute)

Cooper Allen

Caden Michael

Jaxon Evan- like the name but hate the spelling of Jaxon
Reply:I don't like Trevor but all of the others are great!

Although I would spell Jaxon like Jackson and Caden like Caiden. My favorite is Caiden Michael. You could also use two middle names-Caiden Michael Allen (it has a very nice flow!)
Reply:Caden Micheal %26amp; Jaxon Evan are great i love them... I'm not keen on the other two, Cooper Evan could be kinda nice i guess :)
Reply:evan jaxson

allen cooper

allen trevor
Reply:keep the order as is =)
Reply:cooper allen

trevor allen

caden michael

jaxon evan
Reply:jaxon micheal ('cos its unusal and it would be so cool to be called jaxon :p)

or

cooper evan :D

i actually love the name cooper. i think its really unique and interesting :D
Reply:I love all the names you have chosen....Here's an idea, give him 2 middle names

Evan Michael Allen Thompson....That way you don't have to leave anyone out...

My daughter has 2 middle names--Kaylee Ann Lacy M****
Reply:They're all "worst."
Reply:Jaxon Evan, Trevor Allen, Caden Michael, Cooper Allen

I do think Caden Michael sounds best with "Thompson"

Are you sure that you only want names that end in "N" they are nice names but they don't flow right with Thompson.
Reply:I love the name Jaxon but I think I prefer it spelled Jackson.

Jaxon Allen Thompson

Cooper Allen Thompson

Trevor Michael Thompson....this one has a good ring to it if you were yelling out your sons name...."Cooper Michael Thompson, get back here!", lol Just kidding.

I think you have 3 great names. I like Jaxon the best.

I have always wanted to name my son Caden Michael Tyler. It's 2 middle names but it has a nice ring to it.

Good Luck!
Reply:Use your father and late brother and your maiden names this is your baby so go for it
Reply:I like Cooper Allen...I like Caden too, but I think that name is over used in my opinion. Cooper is unique and there are tons of Cadens already out there. I dont really like Jaxon...reminds me of Michael Jackson and thats creepy.
Reply:They are all bad
Reply:I think you should use michael allen thompson. that way you have a little piece of your father and your late brother in your son and the thompson would be his own little personality name.
Reply:What about Michael Allen Thompson for your Dad AND your brother? Or how about Michael Allen Evan Thompson, alot of people have 2 middle names now. I like it alot!
Reply:Caden and Trevor are both ok, I guess i like Caden. Cooper and Jaxton make me shudder in unpleasant ways.
Reply:1 being worst, 10 being best...

Caden Michael (2) I really love the name Michael, but not Caden. It's overused, I'd go with Camden Michael.

Jaxon Evan (1) They both end in an N sound, not cool.

Cooper Allen (1) Cooper is a name you'd give a blood hound not a child.

Trevor Allen (6) I like Trevor, isn't not used too often and it's masculine. But I suggest that you don't used a name that starts with a T since your last name is Thompson.

I'd go with Camden Michael Thompson.
Reply:What about

Maxon Cevan?
Reply:Caden Michael...is nice but i give it a 4..b/c its so common..especially that combination...

Jaxon Evan...8...I like this the best

Cooper Allen-5..sounds like 2 middle names

Trevor Allen 6...just dont like it that much...
Reply:BEST::: Cooper Allen (Alan is my dad's middle name =])

OKAY::: Jaxon Evan

OKAY::: Trevor Allen

WORST::: Caden Michael (I'm so sick of names ending in the aiden sound!)

I love Cooper Allen!

Good Luck! =]
